This files uses bibtex entries generated by SPIRES, and in particular the bibtex keys from SPIRES. However, since SPIRES bibtex entries are not always correct, many have been manually post-processed, e.g. to complete or correct author lists. We do not like the NASA ADS bibtex keys because they are unreadable. If no SPIRES entry is present, we invent one of the form Author:YYYYaa, Author:YYYYab, etc. We add an eprint entry, if available. This eprint entry should be complete, and should look like "arXiv:gr-qc/9908012" or "arXiv:0710.2335 [gr-qc]". We do not want archivePrefix or primaryClass entries, since these are specific to the arXive, and are not handled well by most bibtex styles. Do not add a fake joural entry to preprints since some styles only show the preprint information if no journal is defined. We add a DOI entry, if available. We add a URL entry only if the document has no DOI. Some entries will require such a URL (because otherwise the document cannot be found), but we do not want to pollute printed references with a long URL containing no useful information. We add an ADSURL entry, pointing back to the SPIRES entry. This ADSURL entry uses the DOI (if available), otherwise the arXiv eprint number. This ADSURL looks like {http://www.slac.stanford.edu/spires/find/hep/www?rawcmd=find+doi+...} or {http://www.slac.stanford.edu/spires/find/hep/www?rawcmd=find+eprint+...}. In addition to the standard bibtex keys there are two new ones: requested-for and suggested-for. Both contain space-separated lists of Arrangement/Thorn names, specifying for which thorns this particular publication is either requested or suggested. Web sites are cited as a Misc entry, with a name of the web site's project, either Capitalised or with CamelCase so that it is sorted correctly, and with ":web" appended, as e.g. in: # Misc{EinsteinToolkit:web, # title = {{Einstein Toolkit}: Open software for relativistic # astrophysics}, # url = {http://einsteintoolkit.org/}, # } Note that Spires often shortens the author list. If there are no authors, we add a "key" entry that specifies where this entry should appear in an alphabetically sorted list.
